Molding

No, I'm not talking about the gross stuff that might grow in your bathroom!  We are painting and putting up the molding around the room.

The outer corners are done and now we are doing the inner corners.  Part of the base board is done.  This room is so nice to spend time in now!  I was scrap booking the other nite and actually didn't mind being down here.  That is progress!
So that is what we will be doing this hot weekend.  What kind of plans do ya'll  have planned?  Make it a good one!

Hemming Tape

I found something that I had never used before!  I bought some curtain panels from Ikea back in June for my bedroom.  We always had the roll shades and they really don't do much for a room!  The curtains are an off white linen.  I love linen!  When I bought them I knew I would have to cut them and hem them.  A friend told me to use this tape that once ironed will hold the hem.  I bought some at Walmart, but to my surprise when I opened the package of curtains, there was some in there!  That is the easy part.  I don't like cutting things like curtains, where you have to do two of them.  I have a really hard time getting them the same length.  I cut them at 65" and then wanted to fold over 2" and then fold another 2" to hem them.  The hardest part was stretching them to make sure they were the same.  I am very proud of how they came out!

All I had to do was un-role the tape and put it between the layers and iron away!

Here I just ironed the hem shut and was ironing the whole curtain before I hung them.

Don't they look so wonderful!  They are just a tad uneven, but for me that is perfect!   Nice and airy!  We have just opened the windows again today and I'm looking forward to having them blowing in the breeze tonight!

Let's Talk Peaches

I know Georgia is know for its peaches, but you can't get any better peach than up here in Pennsylvania!  I wait all winter for these babies to come in.  My favorite fruit.  I don't bake them or anything else.  I just love to eat them!

There are orchards all over Adams County with these hanging on the trees.  All kinds too.  This past week my girlfriend and I went out to get some and they have one called a Doughnut Peach.  Little peach packed full of flavor and juicy as all get out!
My youngest son, Brian loves peaches but he won't eat them unless they are peeled.he doesn't like the fuzz on the skin.  Says it gives him the chills.  Well in the heat we are having here in PA. the chills might feel good!

Family Room Done

I'm so excited.  I have been wanting to change this room forever!  We moved here in 1989, and put paneling in to finish the room.  Ron didn't want to put sheet rock up and have to do all the work on it, so I let him go for the paneling.  I have never enjoyed being in the room.  Even in winter when the fire is going.  It was always dark and uninviting.
After meeting Ann over at On Sutton Place, and seeing what she did to paneling I got the nerve up to dive in!  I went to Lowe's and picked out the most beautiful yellow.  Olympic's Butter.  I'm not a yellow person, but this color is truly the color of butter!  I am so pleased with it.

This is what it looked like before I got to this side of the room.  Please excuse the mess!

This was the first wall I tackled.  I had just put primer on these walls.

This was getting the paint in the cracks over by the closet.  They were easy.  I really didn't like using the roller.
And the finished wall with the fireplace.  What a difference!  I am really looking forward to sitting down here now in the winter.  So much brighter!
Thanks for stopping by today.
